Today I began classes at the University of Alicante. My dorm is right on the outskirt of campus, so I can walk to my classroom in 10-15 minutes. There are about 10 people in my class, and 8 are from the United States. All of them are between 18-24 years old except for Volodymyr, he's from the Ukraine and a little bit older.
My professor is really nice, and she is good at teaching Spanish to people that are beginners/amateurs of the language (she speaks with her hands a lot).
I still had serious jet lag when I got back to my dorm, so I slept until about 6pm and then I began my exploration! I stayed close to the campus and went around the side where there are more shops and businesses. I stopped in a fast food restaurant and ordered my first Pepsi. I wasn't sure what he was saying so I gave him 5 euros. Hopefully he gave me back correct change!
The meals here are at different times like I've mentioned before. Breakfast is very short and quick early in the morning (no eggs or pancakes). Around 11-12pm they have a small snack. Then from 2-3pm they have their biggest meal of the day, lunch. There is usually 3 or 4 courses served for lunch: vegetables or rice, meat or fish, fruit or chocolate/pastries, then a small cup of coffee. At 5-6pm there is sometimes a small snack again, then there's a light dinner around 8-9pm. Es muy loco!
